hack club

Fork the repo. github.com/hackclub/receipt -- everything you need is in editor/. It has to be this starter because my printer is fussy. Sowwy
Run it. cd editor, npm install, npm run dev. Open the local URL -- that's your live preview, exactly what the printer sees.
Make it yours. Edit sketch.js in your normal editor and save; the preview redraws. Pick a seed you like, hit Export PNG. Keep Hackatime running -- you need an hour on it.
Ship it. Send your repo link and that PNG here and wait! I'll print it on a receipt printer and send it to you. Maybe I'll drop some stickers too ;>

What can I make?

Generative art, procedural art, a tiny comic, a weird pattern -- anything you can make with code and fit on a receipt.

What size is the receipt?

384 pixels wide, 240–2000 pixels tall. The editor turns your final artwork into pure black and white.

What do I submit?

A public link to your repo and the PNG exported by the editor. You'll also need at least one hour tracked in Hackatime. Submit here.

Will you actually mail it to me?

Yep! I'll print your art on a receipt printer and mail it to you.
